Rutgers Business School MBA candidates from Team MBA are helping NFTE students to prepare for the 2009 Business Plan Competition
April 30, 2009
Rutgers University business students have played key roles in the GlassRoots success story. Thus far, several teams of students have helped design early budgets, business and marketing plans, and links to potential community partners. Two design students created the GlassRoots logo, and, in fact, the name GlassRoots originated in a fundraising class. Thus, the success of the program credits its origin and its subsequent development through the Rutgers Business and the Arts program.
Rutgers students have participated in planning with corporate partners, and have created a marketing plan for the Corning Museum, a strategic alliance and a major glass arts facility in the northeast. Students and alumni continue to play key roles in GlassRoots development and its accomplishments, as well as becoming mentors to the GlassRoots team members. In the process, a key constituency made up of young businessmen and women, has a chance to participate in a not-for-profit entity created especially to address the local community needs.
