Members of the Presidents Council provide significant, engaged support, sage advice, and varied perspectives to move forward GlassRoots, and its mission. Members are asked to give the GlassRoots Board and the staff the benefits of their specific talents and energies, and to act as strong advocates for our mission and organization.
The Council has no governing authority, and is appointed by the Board of Directors for 4 year terms. The Board president serves ex officio on this Council and acts as the liaison to the entire Board.
Key Roles and Responsibilities: · Helps GlassRoots expand its network by acting as an ambassador for GlassRoots within their own community, the glass and art communities, the Newark and New Jersey communities at large and beyond · Identifies community leaders who can support GlassRoots in a variety of ways · Lends their name to GlassRoots initiatives · Provides insight and advice when called upon on various strategic issues · Provides expertise to assist with organizational driven needs.
President’s Council Chair (additional responsibilities) · Provides strategic focus, serving as the leader of the President’s Council team · In partnership with the CEO and Board President, establish specific goals and expected outcomes for the year · Presides at meetings and leads conference calls of the President’s Council · Assist the Executive Director and Board President with succession planning
Time Commitment · Attends annual in-person President’s Council meeting, once a year · Participates in President’s Council calls (no more than 2-3 per year) on particular strategic focus areas of the organization · Responds to requests, via e-mail and phone, for feedback and input on a variety of items, such as research & surveys, comment letters, and other GlassRoots activities
